Sunday, October 29, 2023 marked the end of a remarkable life as Wenona Freddell Moore, affectionately known as "Noni", entered eternal rest. Wenona was born December 3, 1977 to parents John Lee Moore Sr. and Paris Faith Jenkins in Houston, Texas. At an early age, Wenona confessed Christ and joined Gospel Way Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor C.R. Williams Sr. where she was an active member and dedicated participant of Youth in Action and the Gospel Way Choir. Wenona was a gifted and talented student and attended Burrus Elementary (K-3), Ermel Elementary, Hoffman Middle School and in 1996 graduated from Eisenhower High School with highest honors. She received multiple scholarship offers but opted for a gap year and later completed general studies at University of Texas at Arlington.

Wenona has had several careers throughout her short life including stand up comedian, artist, interior designer, custom painter, LGBTQ+ advocate, healthcare worker, and most recently phlebotomist.
​
She was full of life, could brighten any room, and was known for her kindness, generosity, loving and unwavering spirit and her laughter. Whether you knew Noni personally or not, we invite you to join us in celebrating her life and the impact she had on every person she met.

Wenona was preceded in death by her Grandparents; Ophelia Kinney, Johnny Thomas, Margaret Moore, siblings; Lorenzo Jenkins and Jamal Moore, and aunts; Ida Mack and Mary Johnson. She leaves to cherish her parents; Paris Jenkins and John Moore, Grandfather, Willie Kinney, Mama/ Auntie :Trudy Scales, siblings; Wendy Warren (Anthony), Marvela Ladonna Johnson, Lawrence Griffin, Johnetta Jackson, Lakita Godbolt & John Moore, Aunties; Cheryl Jenkins, Marcia Whaley, Marilyn Whaley, Edna Moore Cuyler, Priscilla Moore, Her Uncles; Billy Ray Jenkins, Terrance Whaley and Nolan Moore, and a host of cherished nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
